Where it All Started for me...

Yves Saint Laurent - Wedding Gown 1999
I have always loved fashion, with a string of impeccably dressed females in my family through the generations. My Mum would be home running miles on our indestructible domestic sewing machine. Wedding gowns, to mermaid tails and fairy tutus. When I was about 11, I came across this picture in the paper and I was mesmerised. It was literally the most beautiful thing I had seen evoking all my childhood fantasy references of fairies and mermaids. An incarnation of the mythical nymph with references to Botticelli's Venus, it was Innocently feminine, yet incredibly sexy, which is why today it still poses as such a powerful image for me. YSL remains one of my most loved designers.

My Blog is simply about sharing beautiful imagery, ideas and attitudes always with a strong evocation of femininity, colour and print. I hope you enjoy.
